Sellers generally pay comission to both the sellers agent and buyers agent for the sale of a home. The selling agents comission is negotiable and is generally tied to the level of service that is provided.
Buyers agent commission is usually standard for a geographical area – in Ontario, we usually see 2.5% or 2% commission paid to the buying agent most frequently.
Sellers will also need to pay lawyer fees upon closing.
